Charlotte Athletics

The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation provides financial assistance to over 500 male and female student-athletes in 19 varsity sports. Donations to the funds listed below provide the resources for our annual operating costs including scholarships, nutrition, sports medicine, student-athlete development, recruiting, academic services, technology, travel, and other miscellaneous needs.  These gifts are critical to the success of our programs and student-athletes.

This year, our student-athletes are continuing to experience success in the American Athletic Conference as well as in the classroom. A few highlights include:

  • The men's soccer team won the AAC Championship, securing back-to-back titles and advancing to the NCAA Championship.
  • Matias Iturbe and Vasco Prata achieved a historic feat by claiming the first-ever AAC Men's Tennis Individual Championships Doubles Title, which earned the program its first-ever berth in the NCAA Doubles Championship.
  • Women's Lacrosse launched its inaugural season with a remarkable American Athletic Conference record of 20 goals in their first game.
  • The Fall 2024 Departmental Cumulative GPA reached 3.242.
  • 68% (323) of student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better (Athletic Director's List) in the Fall 2024 semester.
  • 18% (84) of student-athletes earned a 4.0 in the Fall 2024 semester.

These accomplishments would not be possible without the generous support from Niner Nation to our annual fund. Your continued support during Niner Nation Gives will help all 500+ student-athletes get the resources they need to compete in the American Athletic Conference.
