For the Love of Charlotte: Celebrating 10 years of impact and the difference every gift makes
__
J. Murrey Atkins library provides so much more than shelves full of books and journals. For more than 60 years the library has been at the heart of campus life at Charlotte. It is where our community of scholars comes together for the collective pursuit of knowledge. In addition to our physical collections, we offer the best study spaces on campus, access to technology, a gaming lab, 3-D printing, video recording studios, and so much more. Our archives and special collections unit contains the university’s archives and a trove of local history dating back to Queen Charlotte herself.
For the love of learning. For the love of libraries. For the Love of Charlotte.
Please join us as we write the next chapter in the history of Atkins Library.

The dean of the library uses this fund to support events and other initiatives of benefit to students, faculty, staff, and community programming. It helps pay for expenses not covered by the state budget.
Your support of this fund can bring in nationally recognized exhibits such as from the National Library of Medicine. It can cover honoraria for guest speakers, cost-share collaborations with community partners, and events and programming for all of Niner Nation.
The Shirley Derting Grubbs Student Employee Scholarship
The Shirley Derting Grubbs Student Employee Scholarship program awards one student employee who has been working at the library for at least one year, plans to continue working for the next academic year, and is making outstanding contributions in their role a one-time award of $10,000 to cover costs for the next academic year.
Additional gifts would make it possible for the library to award scholarships to more students who are making significant contributions to the mission of the library and gaining valuable skills for their future careers.
