International Program Fund

Education Abroad at UNC Charlotte offers students the opportunity to expand their learning beyond Charlotte and the U.S., to learn and practice the intercultural skills they will need throughout their career, and to hone their problem-solving skills at a global level.

Your donation to the International Program Fund can assist students in making this high-impact educational practice a reality. With an emphasis on awarding students with demonstrated financial need, these funds provide access to one of the most impactful and memorable experiences a Niner can have!

International Student Scholarship Fund

International students and scholars help advance UNC Charlotte's social sciences, scientific and technological research. They bring international perspectives, knowledge, and stories of personal experiences into our classrooms and labs, enriching the educational environment for all. Many high-achieving international students also serve in leadership positions and represent UNC Charlotte in both national and international capacities.

Please consider donating to the international student scholarship which demonstrates support and helps enrich the diversity of UNC Charlotte.

UNC Charlotte International Festival Fund

Established in 1975, the International Festival is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the region and the longest-running event at UNC Charlotte. It showcases the various communities of the international student population at UNC Charlotte and within the larger Charlotte area.

Donate to continue to introduce UNC Charlotte students to the rich cultures of the University and the city of Charlotte.

See what our students and alumni say:

"[...] The significance of my semester abroad can be derived from the perceived insignificant and/or habitual experiences - the mundane." - Razaan Abnowf, Morocco

"My international experience has rewarded me with a well-rounded perspective. I have grown personally in a number of ways. I learned to push my boundaries. The discomfort and inconvenience that I experienced at times helped me to become more dedicated to solution-seeking." - Areanna Nixon, Chile

"I grew up in a lower-class household and I had never considered that I would be able to go abroad, let alone live in a foreign country for three months. The beauty of [Rome] is not just in its history, but in the way that the history is woven into the everyday and the breathtaking surprises that are hidden in plain sight." - Leah West, Italy and Turkiye

"Going to university abroad and challenging oneself to be uncomfortable at times teaches independence and responsibility; exchange students gain a self-drive that is invaluable [to their] future." - Delia Rhodes, Germany

"I studied abroad to gain a worldly perspective and learn more about the culture [of South Korea]. I gained all that and so much more. I gained confidence [...] I came back empowered and ready to overcome anything that comes my way." - Sailin Barrientos, South Korea
