Educator Appreciation
The Cato College of Education is recognizing our Niner educators by accepting gifts in their honor from appreciative students, family, friends and colleagues.
Gifts will support current students and college initiatives aiming to fulfill the college’s vision. After making your gift in any amount, email wcitty@uncc.edu to share your honored education professional’s name, story, and a photograph, if you’d like. The College will reach out to those who have been honored with an acknowledgement via email. We’ll also share selected stories on our social media channels and website.
Niner University Elementary (NUE) is a public school created and led by education experts at UNC Charlotte. The school helps young students discover the joy of learning, and foster the growth of empathy and responsibility through knowledge. NUE is located in west Charlotte in the Reid Park neighborhood, and supports students from high needs, lower-performing schools. Help us provide quality instruction, facilities and student experience to our young learners.
Our summer reading clinic provides free, literacy-rich experiences for Charlotte elementary students while helping researchers uncover best practices for programs of the future. The camp supports students who are struggling with reading and participants have shown significant improvement in reading skills.
Richard and Jacqueline Whitfield Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Join their efforts to support students pursuing this critical area in the teaching.
