Niner Nation Gives

Niner Nation Gives is our 11th annual 49-hour digital fundraising event; it is an opportunity to celebrate UNC Charlotte. Beginning on March 31, our 49er family, both here in Charlotte and globally, can show their Niner pride by making a gift to their favorite college or unit at the University, wearing green, and spreading the word via social media using #NinerNationGives.

There are specific funds listed for each participating group. However, if you are not able to find your desired fund allocation, click 'give now' and select an area to support, then select 'other' in the designation list.

Simply type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.  We can also assist you by telephone at 704-687-7211.

Matching Gifts help motivate even greater participation as unrestricted gifts provide donors the opportunity to double the impact of their contribution to the fund of their choosing. Challenge Gifts are celebratory gifts leveraged when a certain number of donors are achieved to motivate even greater participation. Only gifts made during Niner Nation Gives will be eligible for the Match and Challenge programs - so make sure to check the Niner Nation Gives home page for updates!

There is no wrong way to tell fellow students, alumni, friends and family that Niner Nation Gives is happening.  Post, share or comment on your favorite social media platforms with the hashtag #NinerNationGives. And also follow UNC Charlotte on Facebook, X, or Instagram for the latest updates on Niner Nation Gives!

We did our best to include many of the academic and campus life departments that our students and alumni hold most dear.  This year, we'd like to highlight those funds that contribute to our student success, including scholarship support. We encourage you to view our participating areas on our main page and find your giving passion. If you don't see a specific fund you would like to support, please call the main Foundation phone line at 704-687-7211 or consider supporting the Evergreen Scholarship Fund.

UNC Charlotte strives to offer internationally competitive programs of research and creative activity, exemplary undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, and a focused set of community engagement initiatives. From March 31- April 2, we want to celebrate our achievements and look forward to the many things that can be accomplished through the support of Niner Nation.

Gifts of $5 or more will be accepted on our giving day page.

Since Niner Nation Gives is only a 49-hour campaign, we encourage you to make your gift online. However, you can call (704) 687-7211 and make a gift over the phone. Making a gift by mail would still be a great way to support UNC Charlotte, but would not impact Niner Nation Gives totals unless it is received before April 2.  

UNC Charlotte faculty and staff can give via payroll deduction. PLEASE NOTE: The minimum payroll deduction is $1 per pay per designation (totaling $24 per designation) for the 2027 fiscal year. Your 12-month deduction will begin on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027 and will be deducted over 24 pay periods unless you choose to make a payroll deduction recurring gift with no end date. Those deductions will begin on July 1, 2026, and will continue without an end date.

The Judy W. Rose Let Me Play Luncheon is an annual networking and fundraising event dedicated to advancing the success of Charlotte 49ers women's athletes. This luncheon unites community and business leaders to generate crucial financial support, elevate awareness and provide a meaningful opportunity to engage directly with the women who represent our University in athletics.

Gifts made through the Let Me Play Luncheon help build momentum for Niner Nation Gives—UNC Charlotte’s 49-hour digital fundraising event (March 31–April 2)—and will be counted toward the overall campus campaign totals. We hope you will follow along as the entire campus community comes together to celebrate the power of collective giving and support the programs and initiatives across Charlotte that matter most to you.

Any outright donation of $49 or more on the giving day website or the faculty and staff payroll deduction website will qualify a donor to receive the Norm buildable keepsake. There is a limit of one building block set per donor and only while supplies last.

The Norm building block sets will be shipped to donors within 30-60 days after the campaign ends. 

Yes! Matching gifts are a great way to make a bigger impact with your donation. To see if your employer has a matching gift program, click here. If your company matches, complete your matching gift form and submit it to UNC Charlotte via mail (UNC Charlotte Foundation, 9201 University City Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28223), fax (704-687-7259) or email (giftprocessing-group@charlotte.edu). You may also choose to visit your company's website to submit your form online. Contact your Human Resources Department for more information. 

Absolutely. UNC Charlotte utilizes a validated Level 1 Service Provider called Braintree that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).  The payment application utilizes the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol and tokenization to encrypt your credit card information and securely process your donation.

Contributions to UNC Charlotte are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Yes, you will receive an electronic receipt for your contribution shortly after you make your gift.
