J. Murrey Atkins Library provides so much more than shelves full of books and journals. For more than 60 years, the library has been at the heart of campus life at Charlotte. It is where our community of scholars comes together for the collective pursuit of knowledge. In addition to our physical collections, we offer the best study spaces on campus, access to technology, a gaming lab, 3-D printing, video recording studios, and so much more. Our archives and special collections unit contains the university’s archives and a trove of local history dating back to Queen Charlotte herself.

The Atkins Technology Fund enhances the technology equipment, hardware, and software that build Charlotte's library. Twenty gifts to this fund will unlock a generous $2,000 prize from Atkins Board Member Gary Rautenstrauch!

The dean of the library uses this fund to support events and other initiatives of benefit to students, faculty, staff, and community programming. It helps pay for expenses not covered by the state budget.
Your support of this fund can bring in nationally recognized exhibits, such as those from the National Library of Medicine. It can cover honoraria for guest speakers, cost-share collaborations with community partners, and events and programming for all of Niner Nation.
Atkins Library is every UNC Charlotte student's source for technology learning, experimentation, ideation, creation, and mastery. The library provides access to technologies students incorporate into their academic work and prepare to use in the workplace.
Atkins Library seeks donations to provide students with the emerging technologies they need for coursework and career preparation. Your support helps us refresh equipment in Area 49 and our study spaces, ensuring students always have access to modern, high-functioning tools. Our long-term goal is to establish an endowment to sustain these vital resources.
