International Program Fund (for study abroad scholarships)

The International Program Fund expands access to global learning by supporting students who want to build career‑relevant global skills through Education Abroad. Charlotte Global’s education abroad programs help students develop intercultural communication, adaptability, problem‑solving, and other competencies essential for today’s global workforce.

Your donation helps make these transformative, high‑impact experiences possible, especially for students with demonstrated financial need. With your support, more Niners can gain the global perspectives and professional confidence that prepare them to thrive in international and intercultural environments.

International Student Scholarship Fund

International students play a vital role in advancing UNC Charlotte’s research, teaching, and campus life. They bring global perspectives to classrooms and labs, enrich cultural understanding across campus, and contribute leadership that strengthens the university’s academic and professional community.

A gift to the International Student Scholarship Fund helps attract and support high‑achieving students from around the world, demonstrating your support and commitment to global engagement and the internationalization of UNC Charlotte.

UNC Charlotte International Festival Fund

Since 1975, the International Festival has served as one of UNC Charlotte’s most vibrant global traditions, celebrating cultures from across campus and the Charlotte region. As a signature Charlotte Global experience, the festival builds cultural literacy, fosters cross‑cultural engagement, and supports the global competencies valued by employers.

By donating to the International Festival Fund, you help sustain this long‑standing celebration and ensure that future generations of Niners can engage with a variety of cultures that make our campus and city globally connected.

See what our students and alumni say:

"My international experience has rewarded me with a well-rounded perspective. I learned to push my boundaries. The discomfort and inconvenience that I experienced at times helped me to become more dedicated to solution-seeking." - Areanna Nixon, Chile

"I grew up in a lower-class household and I had never considered that I would be able to go abroad, let alone live in a foreign country for three months. The beauty of [Rome] is not just in its history, but in the way that the history is woven into the everyday and the breathtaking surprises that are hidden in plain sight." - Leah West, Italy and Turkiye

"Going to university abroad and challenging oneself to be uncomfortable at times teaches independence and responsibility; exchange students gain a self-drive that is invaluable [to their] future." - Delia Rhodes, Germany

"I studied abroad to gain a worldly perspective and learn more about the culture [of South Korea]. I gained all that and so much more. I gained confidence [...] I came back empowered and ready to overcome anything that comes my way." - Sailin Barrientos, South Korea
