Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band

The “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band took the field in Fall 2015, making history by unveiling a pre-game show unique to UNC Charlotte and a series of half-time performances designed to excite the entire Niner Nation. 

Today, the band has grown to over 170 members! The band performs throughout each football game, leading the crowd in cheers for crucial plays and in the fight song after every touchdown. And, of course, win or lose, the band leads the players, cheerleaders, and faithful fans in the UNC Charlotte Alma Mater at the conclusion of every home game. Additionally, 49ers Basketball Band performs for both men’s and women’s basketball teams throughout the basketball season. Since UNC Charlotte is an NCAA Division I school, band members travel to annual conference tournament games, including the NCAA basketball tournament.

The band relies upon a general discretionary fund to support operating budget expenses not sufficiently covered by other funds. Areas of support include uniforms, instruments, marching shoes, travel expenses, gameday meals, and much more! You can be part of the excitement!
